Aloha! 808 Urban is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers specifically founded to provide programs, projects, and different venues to serve our youth, young adults, and the community through the means and influence of the artistic urban culture. This unique art form includes the use of:

• Aerosol art
• Air brushing
• Animation
• Canvas work with acrylics and oil
• Dance and deejaying
• Digital media
• Murals
• Photography
• Videography

Our core values are threefold:

1. Knowledge: to educate the youth and public on aerosol art, both Hawai`i’s aerosol art history and its place in the worldwide movement, past, present and future.

2. Fellowship: to create a sense of unity with youth at risk, to bring them back into their community as a whole, as well as establishing a sense of camaraderie amongst the artists.

3. Mentoring: Providing opportunities for entrepreneurship, helping them to become “artists”, providing both artistic skills and life learning lessons for them to become successful and self-sustaining citizens.

Our vision:

Through our organizational programs and processes; communities, different cultures, and generations of the past, present, and future will unify, embrace, and nurture the urban art-forms, artistry and technologies.

808 Urban is committed to offering a program for Hawai`i’s artists to grow in a more positively re-enforced environment where people and community come together to share insight, ideas, values, and understanding. By taking a proactive approach, we help to build a more solid foundation towards a wide array of potential career opportunities. The possibilities are endless.

Let’s face it, we live in a state that forces both parents to bring home income to afford a living, and not all of our youth are involved in after school or sports activities. Some chose art, but with the decline in support and resources, our children are finding alternative ways to fulfill their creative appetite. Many parents worry about whether or not their young are out getting themselves into trouble. Support our program so that we may provide them a place to go.
